Sickness
The setting should be informed if your child is unwell.
In order to safeguard all children we ask that children remain at home for at least 48 hours following their last symptoms of sickness or diarrhoea. The exclusion period on some occasions where illness is at rife will increase to 72 hours. This is to prevent further spread of infection.

Here you will find a brief outline of some of our main Policies & Procedures which you may find useful.
A detailed copy of our Policies & Procedures are available upon request.

Safeguarding

At Hummingbird, our duty of care for children is central to everything we do. We have a detailed Safeguarding Policy, which is available on request, and our Safeguarding Lead Practitioner is Ruth Benton. All staff are responsible for the safety and welfare of the children in our setting.

If we are concerned about a child, we have a duty of care under the Children Act (1989) to refer these concerns to the Norfolk MASH (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) Team.

Medication
The setting may administer prescribed medication to children who have been on their medication and remained at home for at least 24 hours. We will only administer medication after written consent from the parent.
Medicine must be clearly labelled with the original prescription label and childs name.
